Merch Info & FAQ

Importing and selling merch in Canada is a bit complex, unless you have a merchandiser who will take care of all of the logistics for you. If so, great!

The main complexity is related to importing and selling the merch. See below for some handy info.

You can also ship the merch to us in advance of the show using UPS / FedEx / USPS. Please connect with your production manager to discuss the best options.  MRG cannot be responsible or guarantee delivery.

Note that importing merch when you enter Canada (or trying to sneak it in) will for sure require extra time at the border.

Ok, so you got your merch into Canada!  Congrats!  Now to sell it...

A couple key notes here:

• Canada operates on the Canadian Dollar (duh!), please check that your POS if you are using it, is setup for Canadian Dollars AND Canada as the sales location.
• Most Canadians have credit or debit cards.  Canadian non-tap cards require PIN numbers, check that your POS / card reader can accomodate this requirement.
• All Canadian provinces have sales tax on merch (various rates). More on that here: (list of sales tax)

• Provide sellers (venue or independent contractors).
• Provide a POS system - please give us 2 weeks notice at least.
• Remit sales tax for you, if the venue is not doing it.
